Case Study 7

Hinchley Wood School – Surrey
Hinchley Wood specialist music school in Surrey needed to divide their main music hall to allow two music classes to be taken at the same time, side by side with minimal noise transfer.
The specification was set to a huge sound attenuation of 50dB on site. Duvale PLC worked closely with their noise consultants WH Hines and partners and also the specialist acoustics departments at Leeds University.
It was agreed that to realistically achieve such a high dB rating two partitions would be needed running along side each other.
Specification
• Two set of Duvale type 110c, running parallel
• Both sets together giving acoustic rating of 50dB on site
• Grey MFC finish; durable and attractive; perfect for the education sector
• Twin point suspension to allow to stack parallel to each other (see track layout)
Testimonial:
After researching the market for Acoustic folding sliding partitioning and visiting several installation, I was recommended an independent Acoustic consultant. He advised me that it was possible to achieve and what to expect from acoustic operable walls. The whole project went very smoothly and on time from enquiry to completion. We received a comprehensive and personal service throughout. It really surpassed my expectations and I am very pleased with the result.
